Never lie to your mum

A Mom comes to visit her son Kumar for dinner..... who lives with a girl
roommate Sunita.

During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty Kumar's roommate was.

She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Kumar and his roommate than met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, Kumar volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Sunita and I are just roommates."

About a week later, Sunita came to Kumar saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver chutney jar. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" Kumar said,"Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."

So he sat down and wrote :

Dear Mother:

I'm not saying that you 'did' take the chutney jar from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the chutney jar. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

Love, Kumar

Several days later, Kumar received an email from his Mother which read

Dear Son:

I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with Sunita, and I'm not saying that you do not' sleep with Sunita. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the chutney jar by now under the pillow...

Love,
Mom.

Will this straw break the camel's back?

Monday night and I was putting out my work clothes for the next morning as I usually do. Decided to try on my jeans (yes, I dress down at work) and HORROR OF HORRORS!!! Couldn't get it buttoned! Calm down... maybe it shrunk in the dryer. Put on another pair and OHMIGOSH!! I couldn't button it either!

When did this happen?!! I swear I wore them only a few weeks ago. Yes, they were a bit tight then but I never imagined this day would come so soon! Stepped on the scale and I'm only less than 2kgs short of my weight in early 2004 before I lost weight for the wedding. All that hard work and determination down the drain....

Sat down (and couldn't help but notice that my spare tyre is on the verge of doubling! SOB!!) and thought about it and came to the conclusion that it's the increase of sugar in my diet (from all the cakes I've been baking plus the CNY goodies) that has added to my girth. Doesn't help when your colleague bakes fantastic cookies either!

Hubby mentioned to his mum the next day that I've become fatter and she agreed as well! In a way, that's a good thing 'coz she will understand if I don't eat as much as I normally do when we go for meals at their house.

This calls for desperate measures. The eating binge has gone on for far too long (since November) and the workouts have been taking a backseat. Gonna go back on my low-carb diet and hopefully shed of some of these before my study stress begins again in March. Been going to the gym every morning except today (going after work later). The big question is.... how long can I keep this up? There's no longer the motivation to look good on my wedding day.

Hmm.... now that's a thought... You think hubby would want to get married all over again?
