The sweetness of my son

Whilst trying to put Adam down for his afternoon nap, I lay down with him and intended to doze off too. He had slept a little earlier in the day but not his requisite 2 hours so I thought a little more shut-eye would do him good, especially since he had slept so late the night before.
Lying next to me, he was still reluctant to fall asleep and was playing with his toy car. Meanwhile, I was drifting in and out of consciousness.
I suddenly became aware of a light kiss being planted on my cheek, followed by another. He called out softly to me as if to check if I was awake or not. I pretended I was asleep and resolutely ignored him. It was all I could do to get up & shower him with kisses as well.
A while later Adam pushed my head to the right and moved his tiny baby pillow in it's place. Then with all his might he lifted up my head and placed it onto the baby pillow. My heart just melt....
